First overseas wharf operation and maintenance project in Port of Rizhao was put into use

  On 9:50 a.m. August 17 of local time, the Pacific Talent Ship successfully moored alongside coal-unloading wharf of Kasim Marine Terminal in Pakistan, which means the Kasim Marine Terminal, which is under joint operation, maintenance and management by Port of Rizhao Group and Sinohydro Habor Co., Ltd., was officially put into use. As the first ship moored alongside coal-unloading wharf of Kasim Marine Terminal, the Pacific Talent Ship has wheel length of 190 m, width of 32.6 m, designed draft of 11.3 m, and coal loaded weight of 50000 tons.

Kasim coal-fired power generation project in Pakistan is currently the largest and most advanced thermal power plant under construction, which is jointly organized and planned by Chineses government and Pakistan government, and is landmark project to implement China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. As matching facility to coal-fired power generation project, coal-unloading wharf of Kasim Marine Terminal has wharf structure of 70000 tons, and designed annual trafficability of 5.2 million tons. It has two sets of bridge type and grab bucket type ship unloaders, belt transportation system, material piling and picking system and other matching equipments and facilities.

The successful use of the wharf lays solid foundation for safe and soundoperation of Kasim coal-fired power plant. On November 26, one unit of the thermal power plant is predicted to be put into use for power generation. Two units will be combined to the grid in June 2018, to generate 9 billion KWH power annually, to meet local domestic electricity demands of 4 million households, which will help solve energy shortage problem in Pakistan.

Coal-unloading wharf operation and maintenance project of Kasim Marine Terminal is the first overseas project of the Group company, to walk out, actively participate in One Belt & One Road construction and export management. On March 22, Port of Rizhao Group and Sinohydro Habor Co., Ltd. signed Strategic Cooperation Agreement and Joint Venture Agreement of Coal-unloading wharf operation and maintenance project of Kasim Marine Terminal in Pakistan, which means they will be jointly responsible for operation, maintenance and management of coal-unloading wharf of Kasim Marine Terminal. With the signing of the project, both parties will jointly expand overseas business market, with orientation of One Belt & One Road national strategy and principle of complementing each other’s advantages and getting multual benefit and win-win result.

Since April of this year, Fu Wah International Group has sent 43 people to work in Pakistan in 5 batches successively. The dispatched employees overcome adverse factors such as severe environment, inconvenient life conditions and intense heat and high temperature, coordinate with owner and EPC general contractor using their professional advantage in wharf operation, management and technical talent, completed all sorts of work for coal-unloading wharf of Kasim Marine Terminal, such as construction of organizational structure and institutional system, personnel training, wharf acceptance check, operation and maintenance preparation.

After dedication of more than one hundred days and nights, coal-unloading wharf of Kasim Marine Terminal successfully completed the task of mooring and unloading of Pacific Talent Ship, which interprets the brand connotation of Sunshine Wharf and Sincere Service, demonstrates mental attitude of struggling, dedication, hardworking of employees in Port of Rizhao Group, witnesses solid step of Port of Rizhao to walk out to pursue international development.
